The IDHI, Inc. intends to engage in initiatives to promote the quality and availability of education, particularly to struggling and disaffected young people in the region. These initiatives involve building and improving educational facilities, and providing these educational facilities with the necessary supplies and other resources, and are anticipated to increase the capacity, accessibility and availability of schools. These facilities will be operated under the oversight of the organization.
In addition to promoting education generally, by facilitating greater attendance of young people in school, educational development programmes of the IDHI, Inc. will aim at helping to reduce the risk of falling victim to negative influences, thereby combating juvenile delinquency. These initiatives also help to promote the human right to education, enshrined in Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
As its agricultural and health development initiatives, the organization’s educational development programmes also serve to accelerate achievement of the SDGs – in this case, SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and 5 (Gender Equality).
